Abstract

The article analyses the application of UNCLOS 1982 in responding toclimate change and assesses its specific implications for Vietnam. On that basis, itcomments on the development trends of UNCLOS in the context of increasingly complexclimate change and offers concrete recommendations for Vietnam to strengthen its rolein protecting marine resources and responding to climate-related challenges. Theseproposals are intended not only to help Vietnam safeguard its national interests but alsoto contribute to the implementation of international commitments on marineenvironmental protection, in line with the core values of UNCLOS 1982.Keywords: UNCLOS; Climate change; Marine environment; Seas; Vietnam.
