Abstract

The age of criminal responsibility occupies an important place in everynational legal system; all member states of the United Nations, in one form or another,prescribe the minimum age of criminal responsibility. The law of the People's Republicof China (China) has long prescribed a minimum age of criminal responsibility. Basedon an examination of the provisions on the age of criminal responsibility in Chinesecriminal law, and through a comparative analysis that clarifies their advantages andlimitations in relation to the corresponding provisions of Vietnamese criminal law, theauthor proposes recommendations to improve Vietnam’s provisions on the age ofcriminal responsibility in the future.Keywords: Age of criminal responsibility; Chinese criminal law; Vietnamesecriminal law.
