Abstract

As a vulnerable group, people with disabilities face risks, injustices, anddiscrimination in various aspects of life, particularly in accessing education andemployment opportunities. This article highlights that whilst guaranteeing the rights ofpeople with disabilities to education and employment is a prerequisite for them to leadstable, independent, and integrated lives in society, ensuring access to justice isessential for people with disabilities to protect themselves against injustices anddiscrimination in education and employment. The article also indicates that over thepast decade, State policies and laws and social awareness regarding people withdisabilities, and the status of people with disabilities themselves have changed in apositive way. However, efforts from the State, society, and the international communityare still necessary to promote the self-determination and upward of people withdisabilities, thereby contributing to sustainable development in Viet Nam.
