Abstract

Trends in the development of criminal policy reflect the underlyingregularities in how such policy evolves. They carry significant methodological,theoretical and practical implications and provide the foundation for formulating andexecuting strategies for the development of criminal-justice legislation. In Vietnam,these trends are shaped by diverse factors characteristic of the country’s new era ofdevelopment. This article examines the principal developmental trends in Vietnam’scriminal policy within that context.Keywords: Trends in the development of law; trends in the development of criminalpolicy; new era of development.
