Abstract

The 2021 Law on Drug Prevention and Control in Vietnam mandatescompulsory detoxification for drug-addicted individuals aged 12 to 18 who refusevoluntary treatment. While not classified as an administrative penalty, this measureinvolves significant coercion by isolating the subject from society. This article examinesthe rights of minors subjected to this process, analyzes the legal framework, andproposes recommendations to enhance the law and protect the well-being of youngindividuals.
